Tongariro, New Zealand’s oldest National Park, is home to some of the best great outdoors the country has to offer.  In the late 70’s a group of enthusiast Wairarapa skiers formed a club and built a lodge in Ohakune on the southern side of Mt Ruapehu.

More than 40 years on, the Wairarapa Ski Club continues to provide a great family atmosphere for people who all share a love of the great outdoors. With 32 beds and generous open plan living, the lodge a very attractive place to stay.

A 20km drive up the picturesque Ohakune Mountain Road will see you at the Turoa ski area and Whakapapa ski area is less than an hour away.  During the summer months the lodge makes a great base for hiking, tramping, mountain biking or just a quiet place to relax and unwind on the doorstep of a dual World Heritage area.
